What does it cost to have a car shipped from Australia to New Zealand?
Posted by admin in sydney real estate on 04 30th, 2010I live in New Zealand, where mid-70s Holden Statesman V8s are few and far between. When I do find one, it usually costs between 15.000 and 30.000 Dollars or some such real estate type investment sum.
I’ve noticed Sydney seems to be awash with these things, even converted to LPG, for less than 5.000 Australian Dollars.
I’d find it quite tempting to fly over, buy one, put it on the ship, and fly back.
What would that cost, has anyone brought their car from Oz to NZ?

Posted by propertyguru in Uncategorized on 04 30th, 2010Piano moving often drums up pictures of those silent black and white picture shows of the 20’s where awkward movers accidentally cause a piano to crash down to the asphalt from a balcony, or roll down a valley with them in fast pursuit. While these pictures may seem ridiculous, it won’t be a joking matter if you foresee your own piano involved in a similar scenario. Pianos will be worth thousands of dollars, and if you are in the middle of probing for ways and means to move your piano, it would be best to find the safest solution possible to do so.
With some of these musical instruments costing thousands of dollars, from a basic one worth $2,500 to an expensive Steinway piano valued at $8,000. To protect your costly piano during the move, hiring professional piano movers is advisable. These people will know how to treat your piano like a work of art, and not simply cart it away as if it were a common piece of old appliance.
While skillful piano movers can be costly, they can provide good equipment and great moving skills that will safely see your piano through the move. Even the lightest of pianos weigh an average of 300 lbs., and in addition to this, they need to be handled carefully. Most pianos are engraved with carved etchings and smooth finishes, and only professional movers of a certain stature can perform the tedious task of moving this kind of brawny and expensive musical instrument.
Professional movers having made pianos their specialty are often known to disassemble grand pianos and wrap the disassembled parts in padded cloths that are put on a board and secured with heavy duty straps. Even the most minor parts of a piano, the legs, are also secured with cloths and placed on a board. Piano keys are adhered to a rail to keep them from being left behind, and all of the secured dismantled piano parts are placed onto a wheeled platform, and with the use of a skid to stop accidents while moving down stairs, the piano is transported out of your home to the moving van.
To find the best piano movers for the job, be sure to get recommendations from family or friends who own a piano that they have had moved in the past. Having your piano moved to the same town can cost you somewhere between $100 to $500 dollars per move. You will want to make sure the piano movers you select can be trusted with such a high cost instrument. Inadvertent damage caused to your piano may result in both expense and time. In fact, some pianos damaged during moving have never been able to have their finish and original tuning restored due to the extent of the damage after the move.
What factors you should consider when determining an offer price
Posted by propertyguru in Uncategorized on 04 30th, 2010Determining Your Offer Price
When you prepare an offer to purchase a dwelling, you already know the seller’s asking price. But what cost are you going to offer and how do you come up with that price? Determining your offer price is a three-step process. First, you look at recent sales of similar properties to come up with a price range. For example, if you are buying in Medina, Ohio, search in Medina County Ohio for similar houses. Then, you analyze additional data, such as the condition of the house, improvements made to the house, current market conditions, and the circumstances of the seller. This will help you settle on a amount you think would be fair to pay for the house. Finally, depending on your dialogue style, you adjust your “fair” price and come up with what you want to put in your cost.
How Property Condition Affects Your price
Since you have toured the home you are interested in, you should know how it compares to the general area. All you have to do is put the home in one of three categories – average, above average, or below average. When evaluating a lot’s condition, there are a number of categories you should look at. Structural status is most important – items such as walls, ceilings, floors, entrances and windows. Then paint, carpets, and floor coverings. Pay special attention to powder rooms and bedrooms and whether the plumbing and electricity work effectively. Look at the fixtures, such as light switches, doorknobs, and drawer handles. The front and back yards should be in reasonably good condition. The lacking factor will be details on the condition of the homes from your comparable sales list. Provided you chose the right salesman to help you, they will have actually visited most of those dwellings and be able to provide key insights. Finding Rental property with small dog – advise needed Syd Aus?
Posted by admin in sydney property on 04 29th, 2010Hello
I live in Sydney Australia. And need to find a place that will alllow pets as I have a small dog which i love and whom is very much attached to myself.
could someone tell me of website that list properties which allow pets? My dog is tolilet trained and quite but I am having trouble finding somewhere for us to stay help!
any website that you can recommend would be most welcome!
http://www.realestate.com.au is a good site.
Often they won’t say pets allowed but if you call them they will agree to pets esp if the dog is only small. You have a better chance with houses than with apartments too.
It can also help if you can provide a reference for your pet from a previous landlord. It will just give them piece of mind that you are a good dog owner. Also try offering more bond as security in the case of dog related damage.

Hi, you will need to apply for a work visa if youy intend to work in Australia.
I would suggest that you have a look at www.seek.com.au – this is the largest employment website in Australia. Other than that, once you get here, you could approach hotels etc directly.
